Two products under one roof. For studying: 965 original practice questions for the MBE and MPRE — every one triple-checked — with timed simulations that mirror the real exam. For faculty: the exam toolkit — Exam Builder, assignments, Question Studio, personal question libraries, item analytics, question review, and the academy. Faculty run it; students see only what's assigned to them. And Eli, an AI copilot, on every page.
Unofficial. This site is independent — not affiliated with the NCBE, the ABA, or any state bar. Exam dates, formats, and requirements change; always confirm current-year details with the NCBE and your state bar (see Tutorials). Eli is a bar-prep copilot, not a lawyer — he never gives legal advice.

The question bank, in numbers
Every question passed the same gauntlet: written fresh for this site, checked by its author, then solved cold — twice — by independent reviewers who committed to an answer before ever seeing the key. A question only ships when both solvers agree with the key and neither can defend another option. Anything that fails waits in an expert-review queue; it is never quietly shipped and never padded into the count.
The bank keeps growing. New original questions are added on a nightly cadence, and every one runs the same gauntlet before it reaches you. Your practice never goes stale. Exam Admin always shows the live count.

The bar examination is the licensing exam law graduates must pass to practice law, administered state by state. Its shared national components are developed by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE): the MBE (Multistate Bar Examination) — 200 multiple-choice questions, 175 scored, across seven subjects; the MEE (Multistate Essay Examination) — six 30-minute essays; the MPT (Multistate Performance Test) — two 90-minute lawyering tasks; and the MPRE (Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination) — a separate 60-question ethics exam required in nearly every jurisdiction.
Most states administer the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) — the MBE plus MEE plus MPT, with portable scores. Some states, notably California, run their own exams with state-specific essays and performance tests alongside the MBE. California: the current General Bar Examination runs through July 2027 (the February and July sittings); California adopts the NextGen UBE beginning July 2028, with a California-specific component planned from July 2029. Confirm which exam your sitting uses with the State Bar of California before planning.
Our read: everything on this site is unofficial practice material — original questions written for SI Law, not the official exam. For authoritative exam details, start with the NCBE and your state bar.
The MBE format, covered. Every bank item is a single-best-answer multiple-choice question in the MBE style: a fact pattern, a call of the question, and four options — one best answer. Explanations cover why the key is right and why each distractor is wrong. Flagged or under-review items are never drawn. Difficulty labels are estimated, never calibrated.
New: debate Eli by voice. Pick a motion across con law, crim pro, torts, contracts, evidence, and ethics — argue your side while Eli takes the other as opposing counsel, or face the hot bench as Eli interrupts with hard questions. Timed rounds, live captions, a full transcript, and a coaching scorecard after every round. Runs entirely in your browser.
The MBE tests seven subjects; the MPRE tests professional responsibility (the ABA Model Rules and related ethics law). Counts below are verified from the live bank as of October 2026 — Exam Admin shows the live count, which grows nightly.

The faculty side of the site: build practice exams from the original bank, assign them with access codes, author your own questions with Eli, keep your own library, and see exactly how every question performs.
Who sees what: faculty run it — they build exams, set pass marks and access codes, and review item analytics. Students see only what's assigned to them: their own exams, attempts, and progress.
Build practice exams from the original bank or your own items — title, time limit, pass mark, difficulty mix — then publish with an access code so only your students join.
Build an exam →Build locked flashcard runs, share the assignment code with your class, and verify student receipt codes.
Create an assignment →Draft original MBE-style questions one at a time with Eli — every one solved cold twice by independent checkers before it can be saved.
Open the studio →Upload your own questions from a spreadsheet — or paste them as text and let Eli structure them. Keep them private or use them in assignments.
Open your library →Difficulty, discrimination, distractor analysis, most-missed rankings — per question, per exam, per cohort. Flags are review signals; you decide.
See analytics →Review bank questions side by side with Eli — he cold-solves each one and critiques it; your verdicts teach him your standards.
Review questions →Short workshops on writing better questions — stems, distractors, difficulty calibration, bias and sensitivity review.
Open the academy →For students · beyond the bar
Law-school admissions interviews and OCI / job interviews get the same treatment as the bar exam: formats, the question categories programs actually ask, questions to ask them, timed mock interviews with Eli, and a practice-out-loud block that stays on your device.
Meet Eli
For students, Eli tutors from the same doctrine the questions are written against, explains every answer you get wrong, and quizzes you on demand. For faculty, he drafts and reviews questions, helps build exams and assignments, and walks through item analytics. Eli is a bar-prep copilot, not a lawyer — he never gives legal advice.
